Abstract

In this work, some properties of progressive rotating waves (ORP) in an infinite tube with helical symmetry are studied, as a consequence of the dynamic property of Beltrami flows1,5,6  (PDFB, González, 2014, 2022, 2023). It is shown that the classification of non-interacting waves depends on their phase velocities of the form   where s is the sign of the helicity , which implies a different phase speed for each , that is, a separation of modes with different azimuthal numbers. This gives rise to a geometric method to find non-interacting waves based on their phase velocity. And this classification facilitates the study of properties of these waves, such as the transport of angular momentum, which is calculated as an example for a particular case.
