Abstract

The present work focuses on the numerical study of the flow within a junction formed by the intersection of two
millimeter channels. In particular, we study the dynamics of two identical fluids injected from opposite inlets at the
contact region and at the exit channels. We analyse the effect of the cross-section on two aspects of the flow dynamics.
First, its influence on the liquid fraction at the outlet channels. Second, its effect on the morphology of the stream
surfaces.
